Seven turns ago, Alietran Weyr's only goldrider died, leaving her grieving gold with a clutch that had no queen egg. Nine months later, the Weyrleader presented a plan to restrict some of the greens from that final clutch from chewing firestone, to see if they could clutch. It worked.
Five turns ago, a green's egg hatched into a peculiar red-colored female hatchling with an iridescent hide. One day later, during the Hatching Feast, the weyrfolk discovered the food had been poisoned, risking lives and souring the relations between Weyr and Holds for turns to come. A month after that, the poisoner was revealed as a disgruntled candidate, and the Weyr lost its Weyrhealer in the struggle.
Now, it is the very end of the Eleventh Interval, and Thread is due to return at any moment. Alietran is known as the goldless Weyr, but they have still survived. The red female was only the first new color to appear in the greens' clutches; over time, other iridescent-skinned dragons appeared as well, and once they started breeding, it led to an explosion of new mutation colors that the people of Alietran have met with relief.
Alietran Weyr has suffered setbacks in the past, but not all that has happened was bad. The government of the Weyr has undergone a change and could undergo an even larger one in the future, if the riders are willing to embrace change. Relationships between the Weyr and its Holds are slowly getting better after the disaster of five turns ago, and just in time. The Weyr is going to need all the luck it can get--Thread is on the horizon, and despite allowing more and more clutching dragons, the Weyr is slightly understaffed to meet it.
Will you help to turn the tide?

Alietran is a newly-revived Weyr that is looking for players! What we offer:
Clutching greens! And greys, and other new colors. Most female dragons can apply to become clutchers, and there are a number of clutching dragons available to be made.
New colors introduced within the last five turns, and the possibility of more to come.
Smaller, more frequent clutches instead of large clutches once or twice a year.
Open positions for people of all ranks, as well as riders of all dragon colors.
An upcoming election for Weyrleader, not to mention a clutch on the sands.
